Please refer to the following site:

http://www.tcslandingpages.com/newwebsi … index.html

The RSS News Flash 4.5 object below the words "Click one of the scrolling links..." does not display once uploaded to the server in any browser. We've tested IE 7 and 8, and the current versions of Firefox, Chrome and Safari.

The RSS News Flash object displays normally on my desktop in preview mode either stand-alone or when I open the website from my desktop.

The server is Linux and PHP 5.5 is installed.

I've seen this problem posted a number of times, but I've never actually seen a resolution.

Thank you.

Regards,

t.

I have another website on which I use RSS News Flash, and upon which it works perfectly.

http://www.u2mfinancial.com

It, too, runs on a Linux server. The only difference that was obvious was that I was running under PHP Ver 4, rather than 5.

I returned to the server on which RSS News Flash was NOT running and changed from PHP 5 to 4. I got a message saying that it would take 24-48 hours for the change to take effect.

I'll let the forum know how things turn out.

Any other ideas or suggestions?

Do you have allow_url_fopen enabled on both servers?

I have the exact same problem and no, I am not a programmer which is *why* I buy CoffeeCup products - because they're WHSIWYG user friendly and *why* I use HostMonster with simplescripts and all sorts of other "click here to install" options - all I want is for my RSS Feed to run again. It did earlier in the week, it doesn't now. Old version / new updated version - formerly great product but it no longer works on the server. Now I get a "woops" click here that takes my site visitors to Coffee Cup's web site (for all the good that will do them, or me, since the page doesn't display this thread but instead points to Coffee Cup's home page).

Correction: ...that is to say WYSIWYG :|

Just went in to edit my first post and apparently the RSS feeder isn't the only thing to go Whoops!

Whoops! We can't seem to find that page.

The page you requested is not available. (Error 404)
You may have used an outdated link or typed the address (URL) incorrectly.
You can find what you are looking for using the links below:

Try a search:

I assure you - I am LOOKING at my post this very second. Perhaps you don't have allow_url_fopen enabled on your server?

Anyway - for what it's worth I have a link to this page on my site to get back here easily and for you to see what the RSS feeder is doing: http://davidcurtis.org

Thanks

Since you are using WP, try adding the base parameter to the flash code in the html so that the xml file is found by the swf file.

object tag code
<param name="base" value="/">

embed tag code
base="/"

swfobject code
so.addParam("base", "/");
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!

Hey guys. I think I can help here.:) First off Toby, the reader seems to be working correctly at the link you supplied. If I missed something then please let me know. (see attached)

Now for David, I believe the problem on your side is that you are pointing the reader at the .rss page when it is looking for a .xml , try to replace the file extention on the location of your feed and then upload it again and of course change the code on the page as the object id could change with the new save.

Oh yeah and David you do have allow_url_fopen enabled.
