Rip & Burn crashes on startup generates Windows errors

I'm using CC Rip & Burn. During one session of using this software to rip some CDs to .mp3, it started generating Windows errors and stopped working altogether. Now when I attempt to start the program, I get this Windows error message:

"CoffeeCupCDMP3.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program.

An error log is being created"

Restarting produces the same error message.

This started happening shortly after I upgraded to the latest version so I did an uninstall of all versions and reinstalled the original version from my disk. Same thing.

Is this a known problem with (I'm hoping) a known solution?

System is a Windows2000 computer.

Actually I have been using it with great success since 2005 on a Windows2000 machine then all of the sudden, poof!

Good Point Tom,
I take it you installed it in the default drive ( C ) right, and not on a flash drive or anything.
another thing to try, possibly may help is DL from here and run it? is that an option for you. Sorry your having a bad time with it. "It's A Smart Person That Asks"

I did download it from here, no luck. If you go back to my first post that should tell you what I've done. Currently I've uninstalled it, and that's where it sits right now.

Can anyone tell me which log file I might look in for clues to this? I've done a search with "*log*" as the search string and there are literally hundreds of log files.

I even ran the program to get the log updated then ran the search to find the last modified log file. There were about a dozen updated at that moment two of which I could not access and most that seemed either irrelevant or indecipherable.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Is there anyone from CoffeeCup that can tell me what I should look for in the registry to see if everything is squared away there to permit the running of this program?

There were a few installs/uninstalls of programs I was checking out recently and I'm thinking this may have something to do with it.

Have you filed a support ticket with them on this? "You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline - it helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer." -- Frank Zappa

No, I have not. What is a support ticket?

Sorry for asking the obvious, but have you rebooted since the error? :)
The forums are primarily user-to-user support, so it's not guaranteed CoffeeCup will run across every thread.

If you log in here, you can open a New Support Topic which will be entered in their support ticketing system.

I just tried to install the trial Rip and Burn to see if I would buy it and I have the same problem. I am running a new machine with Windows XP Pro. I run many of the Coffee Cup programs with no problems but this one will not work.

I installed and it fails with same error as above. I restarted and same thing. I uninstalled, rebooted and redownloaded the trial and installed with the same windows crash.

I am going to submit a ticket not but just wondered if there was a resolution found.

Thanks!
