I've created several pages and a menu. I've put them on the S-Drive and can view them. But when I try to link to them from the menu, it can't find them.
What should I use for the page name? Do they end in *.vnu? (http://company.coffeecup.com/page.vnu)
thanks,

You never link to the VNU file. That is just used by the software itself to build your website.
You would like to something like riggsmachine.coffeecup.com/miner2.html for example. ~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~

So is miner2.vnu really miner2.html or am I supposed to name it "miner2.html" somewhere. I tried with "riggs_weld" as "riggs_weld.html" and it did not find it.
(such as Page ID or Page Name)?

Move your mouse over the S-Drive menu at the top of this page, click on "Site" there it should show you a list of pages that you have uploaded to your S-Drive. It will show the images folder and everything else as well... You are looking for the file names that end in .html or .htm depending on what you set them to be.
Hope this helps.

Hiya Michael,
The .vnu file is the file that is like a zip file of all your site components. That is only for use with the VSD program and is basically a backup of that file so you don't lose it if something happens to your computer. If you see that file online in your uploaded files, that's a good thing
When it uploads your site to the S-Drive or any other server too, it then expands all the files so that you then see the real pages which end in the .html or .htm .css etc. or whatever files are in your particular site setup.
Hope that makes sense

OK, I now see the files on the S-drive. Now to figure out why it doesn't publish the page I'm on when I hit "publish". It only publishes the index (main page).
Do I have to add the files for each page (via add files) before publishing?
What is the name of the page itself (I found the folder for the page, but no html for it).
I can't just be on the page I want to upload and "publish" it to the S-Drive?
thanks,
-fitz

Ok from here someone that uses VSD will need to step in as I don't use the program, I just know about the .vnu file etc. Give it a little bit and someone should be around that uses VSD that can answer your question Michael

Thanks. I think I need to organize the S-Drive and get a grip on the files there. But I still don't get where the naming conventions for the pages are derived from (the saved name + html, the ID name ...)

VSD will publish all the changed content on your site. What your seeing is it comparing the files on your pc to those on the server.
When your on a page click on "Page" at the top then look in the Page properties box that pops up to the right.
Page Title is the text that appears in the tab of the browser and the
Page ID is the url for the page. VSD will add the .html on to the end when it uploads. I can't hear what I'm looking at when it's so easy to overlook something I'm not looking for.
Here's my S-Drive site with
examples of what can be accomplished in VSD.

Got it. I see what I did wrong and after a brief site readjustment (and publishing) and it working.
