Changing Menu Builder files, and still save the original file

If you have a Main Menu on a page, but would like a slightly different version on your additional pages, it is easy with Flash Menu Builder.

1. Open your Menu .xml file in Flash Menu Builder.
2. Make your changes.
3.Click on Save. The "Save As" window opens, make a new folder where you want to store you altered menu and save into this folder.
4. I would suggest changing the menu name:
Example: mymenu2.xml Darce Jean

Flash Menu - Front Page - FireFox and Internet Explorer 6
If your menus will not show in FireFox but not IE and your are using Front Page:

I HAVE A FIX ON THE MENUS! A weird one, but it works! For some reason when viewing the page in IE 6 the componants (SWF file) need to be in the main directory. BUT when viewing in firefox, the componants needed to be in the borders directory along with the left.htm. This seams weird to me , must have to do with the Frontpage I am using. if i put them in the borders folder only, they would not show up in IE 6 but they will in firefox. If i put the componants in the main directory, they show up in IE 6 but not firefox. So I copied them to both directories and BOOM - COOL! it works in both browsers..... Go figure that one out!

Fix for the width problems where long menu button text is desired

Apparently on flash menu builder the width of the field is dictated by the size of the button. Therefore a long menu title such as "Historical Buildings" would get cut off to "Historical Bui". All you simply have to do is go to the folder where the .png files (button images) open the desired button with Photoshop --> go to image size --> and simply widen the pixel width --> save as a (Copy).png --> choose transparent --> go back to Flash Menu Builder choose your newly edited button and like magic the text field is wider!

and there you go!

Workaround for "XML file not found".

I was designing a site with a master .SWF banner that appeared on the top of the site's web pages, and a .SWF contact form on the "Contact Us" page.

Everything worked fine in Mozilla Firefox.

When I accessed the "Contact Us" page in IE 6 or 7, the contact form wouldn't work.
It gave the error "XML File not found. Please upload....."

After hours of work, I gave up and adjusted the page so the banner flash existed in all pages EXCEPT the contact page.

It fixed the issue.

Odd thing is.... On another web site I made, this issue doesn't cause a bug.

I don't like having to compromise on my designs, but if this helps anyone out... good luck.

FRONT PAGE TIP - buttons in shared borders
I placed my code in my shared border folder in the file "top.htm". I then upload the required files to the border folder and was able to preview the buttons on top.htm with no problem. When I previewed any other page, the white Flash box appeared but not the buttons. I got it working by also uploading the required files to the root of the website. The file MUST be in both places if you place your buttons in a shared border. Working great now. Hope this helps.
