I don't know how many times this suggestion has come up, but you really do need an import function. Since LockBox can export in .csv format, it should also be able to import in that format.

Hi Scott,

Since you asked, It would be great if you added three features:

#1 - Nested folders, it is only one level now and even 2 would be very helpful.
#2 - Automatic sign on when you click the F9 - URL button to go to the site. Too much back and forth now. (You can tell I'm spoiled.)
#3 - Backup button - I learned the hard way that Export is not the backup for LockBox but that Copy is. Not exactly what I expected but now that I know the difference it works quite well. I was lucky and had my exported csv file to work from but it was all manual.

Other than that, great program! I use it extensively and it certainly beats Notepad for passwords. I will be looking for the upgrade. http://www.ricksgrillparts.com/

howsabout some browser integration

go to a new website and create or login to account

when FF or IE asking to save the login info.
Lockbox also asks to a create a group or add an account out of this.

this could even be developed as an "addon" for Firefox community

automatic database sync:
example:
Lockbox lives on you desktop ..but you use a usb drive to take home and on the road,

plugging in this drive to the desktop would automatically "sync" and data changes to the drive...without having to recopy the databse.

plug it in, lock box says, would you like to sync? yes/no
then additionally you can configure fields to always or never sync.

auto fill in user/pass fields when clicking a url from lockbox

clicking the url icon in my version of LB 3.1 only takes me to the site
it does not fill in my user/pass

however if FF or IE has this saved it will fill it in, but I dont always save everything to FF or IE

I want to use Lockbox for everything

lockbox automatically backs up a encoded file to a remote location
harddrive, flash drive, network drive, etc etc.

this can be scheduled
could use the same framework as sync

More fields, and ability to creat dynamic fields
when I create a custom url field I want a url link icon to appear
additionaly If I add a Skye field I want to be able to fire Skype via the icon

right now when I run out of custom fields I create another account
under a group
example

now I need this info saved

- basic contact info
- domain registration login
- multiple ftp logins
- main server login
- server CP login
- CMS system login
- email logins
- ssh login
- user account logins
- employee skype names
- google webmaster tools login
- yahoo site explore login
- ebay account
- amazon account
- paypal account
- merchant account
- bank account
- facebook
- myspace
- twitter
- other social net
- support forums
- affiliate program login
- who knows what else... you get the picture


this is just the basics, but in order to achieve having these displayed or linked in Lockbox as urls , I have to create multiple accounts.

If have a custom account creation ability I could setup a TEMPLATE and pick my fields and their functions.

and make multiple templates and assign these to different groups


for instance...this template creator could be built very similar to Form Builder

add a field to the template called Skype
add this field and a clickable skype icon appears. which fires skype and calls the person who is listed in the field

add a field to my account template called Ebay
ebay icon appears and I am abler to set the target,

instead of the secret service looking guy at the top as an avatar, how about being able to use a clients logo

Idea:
Add more icons e.g e-mail, bank, etc...
Add extra security: Along with your master password, you also have the option of adding a USB stick and combine the master password and the USB stick to access your database.

Also be able to show/hide your password when the program is open.

What about the ability to copy an Account. Esp if only a few fields need to be changed !!!

I'd love to be able to access all of my passwords via a Lockbox app for the Android OS
