Hiya,
I saw that Lockbox is being updated soon and decided since I've never used it, I'd like to find out if anyone knows if it's actually better than Roboform or if Roboform is better? (I don't have Lockbox installed and am reluctant to do so as I use a different program "Roboform" for my password help).
I've been using Roboform for quite a few years now and have almost 600 ID/PW combos saved up. If someone out there has used Roboform and made this choice I'd appreciate some feedback, thanks

**EDIT**
I was just on the Lockbox info page and looking at some of the videos, looks interesting, love the group idea which Roboform doesn't have at all.
I have a question though, when accessing ID/PW do you have to always do it all manually or does the program pickup the info from the site when you're inputting a new site registration etc.?
Also, does it automatically pop up a box for choosing your ID/PW combo for a site when you visit it or is it all manual where you have to open and copy/paste it?

Right now there is no browser tie in. All account information is stored in an internal database. The nice thing about this is the database file you can copy from computer to computer. I even have a backup copy on my cell phone. You can also add binaries to the database as well. So if you have an install file that goes with your registration code, you can attach it to that record.
The update will have more importing capabilities so migrating from Roboform to Lockbox will be a snap.

Thanks Scott, I'll install it and see what it's all about. Right now Roboform has a bit more functionality in that I don't really have to do anything much at all other than say OK or add a field here and there if needed. It puts it all in for me, pops up when there's X number of blank fields to be filled in, and automatically pops up a box to ask if I want to save the info on a new site. Quite convenient, but I have absolutely 'NO" organization setups in it... imagine... 500+ entries.... all in one folder LOL.
I did want to ask also, are the passwords accessible outside of the program? I ask because Roboform didn't use to have this, but now they do so I can password protect the entire thing and even though the folder they are stored in has each ID/PW set is a separate file they aren't accessible outside the program at all, and I am able to Password Protect each and every one. Not sure how this works with Lockbox, but I did see on the video that it has password capability, it just didn't go into a lot of detail on it

The data in Lockbox is only accessible inside of the software and the database is encrypted with a username and password.
