Why is the transparency not working on images that I bring in? What can I do to get the transparency to work so that I do not have a white or black block around an image?

I am using Visual Site Designer and trying to place a .gif on there.

Hiya Ellen,
Is it VSD you are asking about the transparency for or is it Live Chat you are trying to get to use transparency within VSD? Just want to clarify because you posted in the Live Chat Forum. If it's VSD we'll see that the post gets moved there so you get better exposure for your question

The background your seeing is to help position the image in the design window. It should appear correct when you preview and on the live site.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's so easy to overlook something your not looking for.
