I am having some problems setting up the live chat on my website. When I click on the "Log In" button from the program, nothing happens. It just stays on the same log in screen. I am using the trial version of the software.

Are there examples available of websites that use the CC Live Chat? I'd like to see how some of them are set up.

Thanks a bunch!

Could you post a link to the site/page in question? It would help others here to figure out what is going on. Living the dream, stocking the cream :D

onlinearted.com is the site where I am having trouble. It looks like it functions on the website, but it doesn't do anything on my desktop from the program.

Is there a way to create a small area on the page where the chat will appear that will let viewers know if chat is available or not? I mean, without the large chat box?

Thanks!

Well, it looks like my chat is working - yay! I really like the way it looks and operates.

I have a couple of questions though. Is there a way for visitors to see that I am not available for chat without clicking on the "Live Chat Now" button? I have run across chat buttons that state "chat unavailable" before I click on the button.

Also, even though I can bring up my site and access the chat, when I uploaded it through VSD I received a message: "The file chat.swf was not found. Continue uploading your site anyway?" I selected yes and the site was loaded with the chat. The chat seems to be working okay, but I still must have something wrong.

Hi Amy,
Right ow all you can do is maybe add a time when you'll be online for chatting, but when they go to sign in and your not available they should see this:http://www.myofficialnewbie.com/web/su.jpg
question 2: I don't know if you used the flash tool or not, or whether you moved your files for the chat, but if you go to edit, remove files, then remove that one file mentioned, that error should pop up on you again.
Or you could remove all your chat files, save then use the flash tool to re-add the chat and will automatically add the files for you.:) "It's A Smart Person That Asks"

Bruzer,

Thanks so much for all the great info! My chat works now :)

I removed the files and it came up. I used the HTML tool to create the "Chat Now" button on my homepage, then it linked to the chat files on the server. I didn't use the flash tool. I think I may go back and try it with the flash tool because I would like for the chat to open in a separate window. I can't figure out how to make that happen using the html tool.

Thanks for all the help and advice!

Hi Amy,
Don't bother with the flash tool as I thought you wanted to add the chat box itself into a page.
where you added the code for the button:

change it to this:
"http://www.onlinearted.com/chat/chat.html" target="_blank"

but I see you have it already ....:)

Bruzer,

Actually, your tip worked better than what I had. I used the code you suggested, and now it is working correctly! Thanks so much for your time and help :)
