Hey everyone. I'm still in the process of gathering ideas for designing my website. I can visualize how "Live chat" would be a benifit to my site. For now, I have 7 distinct "sections" of my site that visitors can go to depending on the specifics they're looking for.
Can each of those 7 sections have a different "Live Chat" attatched to them that are independent of the others? And how many different visitors can be "chatting" all at the same time about that particular subject?
I guess what I'm saying is: A visitor comes to my site. They see there are 7 options to choose from. They choose option #4 and click. They are taken to that page. Can there be a "live chat" on that page that is independent of the "live chat" that's going on from option #5? Can multiple people be chatting about the info on that page all at the same time? Like a chat room about the page topic.
Thanks for any and all replys.
From my use of the program this could be achieved b creating multiple directories that will each have their own copy of the live chat app but I would suggest doing it for catagories rather than individual subjects or you may find that the amount of chats you need to create is huge and you will also find a lack of people using each to make it worth it, in all honesty unless you a big site then you dont even need per cat chats as you really wont be getting enough visitor to make it worth the hassel so I would suggest just a overal chat which is linked via an include in each page in addition you can then just create a popup script so people can have the chat in a floating window so they dont miss the chat due to page changes.
Always remeber its all about ease of use for your customers and forcing them into different rooms depending on their reading subject is a bad idea just because they are on that page doesnt mean that what they want to talk about a good way to do it would create a chat selection page that appears in the popup then once they have selected they can stay with it and still browse your content.
Still normally chat rooms only work on sites if they are community based or have a large user base otherwise you might just find you put all the work in and its just taking up space as no one uses it.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
