I would appreciate some help. I would like the chat window box to appear in a page I have made rather than a page by its self. Is this possible? I use a google map on a page that uses an iframe? would this be be how i would do it?

Any help is much appreciated

Regards

Mark

Hi,

Im not sure I understand. You want to embed the code beside a google map?

You can do this by using the embed code from live chat and put it on the page just as you normally would. I love Coffeecup and VSD!: http://mylife.coffeecup.com (add /stream to the url see boring pictures)

Yes the iframe most probably is the best choice but myself I would do what I did on www.greyhorsebot.co.uk if you get the 2nd split test index (if the payment box has credit card pictures in it then your on the correct page.) you will see just under the heading a strip saying live chat now if you dont see it then it means its after 5pm gmt and I have gone home... for those amoung us who are on the ball will have already figured out what I'm saying here basicly I have made a script that lets you activated and deactivate a chat button displayed on the index of your website that when a admin is logged in displays the chat available strip to users but then if we arent here rather than showing chat not available it disappears completely (this has been proven as better for sales than showing a unavailable button) when the strip is clicked a popup is created for the chat and that is how the user can interact but this also means the user can continue looking at the site while they wait and cuts out the click to find out that there isnt anyone there which then discourages them from buying as they cant be sure how long its been since the chat was last available (remember the internet is polluted by dead sites having a live chat button doesnt always means the sites still serving customers)

Malcolm,

I agree with you about adding the chat button and removing it. When using live chat solutions in the past, that's what I have done.

You may want to add your show/hide button code to cc tips and tricks. :)

Will do, I've recently changed over to another provider as it seems I wasnt getting anywhere with fixing all the issues with this app even got to the point where it was no longer letting me login to my chats. So instead I'm using ZaZaChat which is free if you just want the LC functions (more advanced than coffee cup) but if you decide to subscribe it goes the full hog and tells you almost everything about your users even the length the have been on the site and the search term they used to get there let alone the fact you can actually invite your browsers to participate in chats if you want.

Still the code I used to make our coffee cup live chat buttons can be downloaded from http://www.idedonline.com/lchatbut.zip
In return for my work all I ask is that you keep the link to my site within the code.

All you need to do is edit the code to add in your chat urls etc and place an iframe on the the page you wish to display the button, example code is included in iframe.html

If you require additional assistance then please contact me on msn via ided@hotmail.co.uk, please dont email this address as I do not use it for mail just msn as hotmail is a spam collector if ever I saw one.

Note: The script require windows server that supports classic asp (no need for .net) and you also will need to update your global.asa file inserting the code provided in the zip

***Please ignore attached zip it is not the latest version please use download link provided in post***
