Hi,
Just noticed in my download area an update available for the HTML Editor on Jan. 13, 2012. Is there a list anywhere of what changes have been made? I'm assuming just minor changes and bug fixes, but would appreciate details before I D/L it.
Thanks,
Richard To borrow from the sentiment of Nathan Hale:
"I regret that I have but one form to give for my forum"

Don't do it if you want to retain the visual editor and preview tabs
Biggest things are S-Drive integration and no more visual tab.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's so easy to overlook something your not looking for.
Here's my S-Drive site with
examples of what can be accomplished in VSD.

Preview windows are still there, hit F12 and the split tab is there and hit View on the menu in the top left and you'll see where to turn on the Preview windows etc. It's still there, it's just not a tab is all

Or if you want to MISS OUT on the many UPDATES that have been implemented into the MOST RECENT version...
Come on, we all know that visual editor caused more problems than it solved for too many users. I actually used it a fair bit, but didn't mind going back in and 'tweaking the code back into proper play'. If you want/need visual, you REALLY SHOULD be looking into using VSD at this point. MUCH better, and IF you still want to mess with the .html file after you publish you can, just need to realize that you WILL lose those changes should you re-open your site in VSD to make new changes.
As far as preview tab, yep the tab is gone, but there are several ways to access preview. Including (as Jo Ann mentioned) F12 to get the Split Screen Preview to show.
Not taking advantage of a FREE update to your software, is akin to NOT taking your car in for a FREE update that will improve it's performance & economy. Living the dream, stocking the cream
Yep, also hit the view selection in the top left menu, all the options are there for viewing the preview window which right now you can actually have sitting in your task bar separately without having to constantly swap from code to preview tabs. Scott also mentioned in one of the other threads that it's a great tool for those using dual monitors.... *now to get my hubby off my little netbook so I can do that*! LOL

How is the best way to update, I do not want to loose Website Project Settings.
So if I remove original version first will it leave Project Settings?

Save your project .cpf files in a backup folder for safe keeping.

Thanks Eric
All done did not loose any settings. Original removed first.
NB I did loose one snippet, which is all I had changed - so if you have a lot you may have to think about that.
