I wish you guys would create some Udemy courses to teach your software (and make some money for your company at the same time.) I'm taking a course right now for HTML5 and CSS 3. I took his intro course and he's a good teacher but the guy is pushing Dreamweaver which doesn't help me.

I would think you would generate sales and make your existing customers very happy if you offered courses that featured your web development products as well as teaching general techniques.

Whatcha' think?

The course I'm taking now uses Notepad + + as the text editor and that's compatible with the HTML Editor. He does a couple of lessons shilling for Dreamweaver but nothing I can't get past. Plus he's teaches in a style that works for me.

I started coding websites with Notepad back in the prehistoric era. Used Hotdog Pro for years, and then moved into other non-web based endeavors. Years later I found CoffeeCup and I've used VSD for several years for the farm and some non-profits because I didn't want to learn all the new stuff. The combination of need for responsive web design and being a 62 year old farmer who should have a back up way to earn money has driven me back to hand coding. Surprisingly enough I'm finding the new standards in HTML great fun and now that I've had CSS explained to me I love it.

I think when I get up to speed on HTML, CSS, PHP, and Javascript I'll be able to start up a nice sideline business to increase revenue and keep farming. At least that's my fantasy and I'm sticking to it.

Not really for full basic courses as above, but YouTube is best free resources.

Code Academy has PHP (and everything else web/code related), all for free.

Thanks paintbrush, Code Academy is very cool and I'm working with it right now. The immediate feedback works well for me.

That said, I still stand by my original post. I think it would be a win/win for CoffeeCup to create online videos on how to work with their products. These courses are such useful teaching tools it's a shame for CoffeeCup not to take advantage of some place like Udemy to show off their products and provide online classes designed to help us get the most out of them
