No, that's a thing of the past. I will say that if there is a major problem, and some times even small ones, CoffeeCup may offer a free update to correct it. This happens more often than not. However, if there is a major new release it will have a price. Don't look glum though! CoffeeCup usually wraps those upgrades in some pretty good deals. Make sure you subscribe to the news letter to stay informed.

And welcome to the forum!

Hey there!

In over 15 years of making amazing Web Design and other software products, CoffeeCup has in general, delivered improved versions of the software free of charge. We will continue to do so, especially when a new version mainly consists of minor improvements and fixes. However, from time to time there will be new versions that require rewrites of the application or parts of the application. This process requires significant research, design, development and testing time. In those situations and on a case by case basis, CoffeeCup reserves the right to require a fee for upgrading to the new and improved version of the software. Given the resources it would take, we would hate to withhold implementing these improvements purely based on financial decisions; charging a nominal fee for updates is the only way to accomplish this.

The good news is that any purchase made within 45 days will qualify you for a free update. If you don’t feel new functionality is worth the upgrade you can always stay with your current version.

Did you know that Web Form Builder can be used for both simple and complicated forms and that it's not limited to the default fonts and buttons? Take a look at a form we developed for WindowTinting.com.

I have to ask the obvious question here, where did it say that there would be any lifetime updates when you just purchased it? Don't get me wrong, I'm aware that it all used to be this way, but I'm curious and I'm sure CC is too, where it might have said that. Since this is probably your first program purchased from CC and this is your first post on the forums (hence why I'm assuming it's your first purchased from CC, but I could be wrong here and maybe you just never came and posted on the forums before).

Anyways, if it's saying that anywhere in the program, or on the website then that should be corrected, and if it's not, then where did you get the idea that there was lifetime updates? Just curious as that system has been gone for like 2 years now (give or take a few months lol). :)

I'm sure there are other old reviews with old info out there. That's just the first one I came across.
As long as these reviews linger and people find them, there will be confusion about new version prices. :(

Well I can't speak for anyone else, but I myself have enough common sense to read about all that prior to purchasing when I see anything like that. When an advertisement on a different site. review, forums, etc. state something about lifetime warranties, guarantees, replacements, or in this case updates. the first thing I do is go directly to the website of the product in question and double check all that. Especially if a bit of info I'm getting it from is 7 years old lol. I know what you mean though PB, just saying that's not the most efficient way to do things if you don't do your own homework before purchasing :)

But we know not everyone is that thorough

Not to mention, some of those sites are a tad misleading. They advertise FREE downloads but don't make it obvious it's a free trial of the paid version... and not the free version. :(

It would be great if everyone would come to the CC site and read EVERYTHING before purchasing/downloading, but that's just not going to happen :P
