why I update programs that I have spent so much time learning and getting the hang of. I have my own software program I invented back in 2004. I recall a user writing me to tell me it worked great and to "resist the urge to make 'improvements' to the program..."

I'm not a tech guru using the program. It does what I want it to do and I am sure it would do much more if I had the time and would use it to learn the many features, but I don't.

The old program used to have tabs at the top that allowed me to instantly preview my work in my browser. Now it takes several search and clicks then goes out of the program to see my work in my default browser.

If there is not a faster method to preview my work in a browser window, how can I go back to my old version of the HTML editor?

Hiya Patrick,

Two things that will help you either way. First, hit F11 or F12 and you'll find your previews one way or the other. F11 will get you the Preview Window which can reside on your taskbar (don't worry if it disappears when you switch files as it is separate for each file so if switch to a file that doesn't have one open it disappears and reappears when you go back to one that does). F12 will open the split-screen preview which has always been on that key. These are also available via the default toolbar buttons being the 5th and 6th buttons from the right (not counting the search box).

If those are not what you need or want then you can always go back to the version 12 software by opening the installation zip and reading the text file that is included. This tells you what has been changed, but more importantly for your needs it has a link at the bottom to redownload the old version.

Hope that helps :) Jo Ann

Try pressing F11 or F12.
