What's up with Flash and HTML and does this version address any changes. Swish Max hasn't upgraded forever , so I guess a big change is coming. I'm a little lost on this issue ! Guess I better upgrade anyway -

The latest version of the Editor addresses structured markup, which is a change from earlier versions.
Flash has never been a part of the Editor. CC has other programmes that deal with flash. Be careful, though, if you are building sites for the mobile audience. They haven't got flash installed, so the flash content won't show on those devices.

What Inger says it right on Apple mobiles but not Android, there are many ways round it for Apple as well. Android also has a massive market now. It's a pity that IOS don't support Flash, there are things that Flash can do that no other tech can beat it.

Android is also turning away from Flash.
Version 4.1, and later, do not support Flash. In June, 2012, Adobe announced that the use of Flash would not be "certified" on Android versions after 4.0.x.

The latest version of SwishMax is dated June, 2011. I wouldn't hold my breath on any big updates from there...

Per its becoming a mine field thats for sure. Many think HTML5 will replace Flash but I dont feel its in the same league. With all these devices.theres workarounds my wife runs Jellybean and Flash plays well on there. I hope Flash doesnt die Im personally useless with it but when its done in a.skilled person its an art

I could have added that with my Samsung half-size tablet I'm not able to see any flash. And yes, with flash one could make great things, and you can still use it on websites if you also create a fallback for non-flash devices. I made something like that on this site: www.praxis-erdogan.de (then click on one of the flags). I did not create the original site with the flash and the built-in navigation, but I was asked to fix it for mobile devices (not responsive - yet).

For the average "Joe" or "Jo" hehe, this will be an issue I'm sure. For those of you wanting to be sure you can still get flash content when you're browsing, try Puffin browser on your mobile devices. Works slick (except for CC's site when it's turned in landscape mode for some reason or another), and it has flash built into it so you can still visit flash sites, play flash games (which HTML5 cannot do, no matter how hard it tries it cannot make a flash game work), and so on. Hope that helps some of you a bit at least. And there are a few other browsers out there that do it.

Do keep in mind that this is not a free browser if you want unlimited access to flash. If you want the free version it provides you with I think 14 days of free flash use and then after that you can earn free flash use by referring people or something like that. I just bought it and haven't looked back. It's my browser of choice on my iPad and my phone and works pretty good for me.

That's a nice site that Inger, I can read it on everything, can't remember what my Android MP3 player is but I think it might be Gingerbread, but there's easy ways to use Flash on Android and even IOS systems and after all there's many a time I've gone to use Flash on normal everyday browsers and it's asked to update, it will be interesting to see how this develops, but there's nothing out there like it, I agree with Jo Anne that HTML5 just can't cut it, I'm not saying it bad, just not Flash. It's all been tried before with stuff like DHTML back in the day, I was programming games and still do occasionally and I love DHTML because I'm a dinosaur there's also Java but Flash is going to take some beating I feel.
