I have seen something in the forum about this but cannot find it.

I am using the latest available build of the HTML editor.

When working on files and having quite a few open, ie 11... I work and make changes, save and upload.

On closing all the files, the last one is displayed completely empty, with just a blank white page being shown and a dialogue appears asking to save changes.

I deny the request to save changes and close the file.

On reopening it all is still there.

Just letting you know, I think Jo Ann has mentioned this already

I've seen this happen. One time I tried a save and the page was saved blank so closing without saving is the way to go. I haven't had it happen on that latest version yet. I can't hear what I'm looking at when it's so easy to overlook something I'm not looking for.

Its happened quite a few times, 8 or 10.....

I just deny the save changes request and it seems ok when I reload the file.

I believe there has been some thought about it already posted, but I cannot find the thread...

Anyway, its definitely a new thing, since the latest makeover, and it has happened a lot,
hopefully the next release will have addressed it...

Peter, If you can replicate it on demand Scott will be interested in more information so they can solve this. I can't hear what I'm looking at when it's so easy to overlook something I'm not looking for.

I shall see what happens, its not an on demand thing, but last night it happened
several times.

Events are....

I basically open 11 files, I have 11 pages in my site showing friends bugs...

I needed to change a slab of code in all of them and so reworked the first page,
copied the slab of html and pasted it into the others....... 1, 2, 3, 4. 5 times.... etc

I then 'Save All' and upload.... Successfully

On closing all the files with 'Close All'..... The last file comes up completely empty and a dialogue appears asking to save changes....

Remember.... I HAD already saved the changes before the upload....

So somehow the saved state is changing in the background, and the prompt comes up... Something is clearly amiss as a blank file is displayed.

I had this happen a couple builds ago or so. I did let Scott know, but had no idea what it was that did it so I haven't been able to replicate it. I am very sure it's something to do with a lot of pages open as that was the case at that time, but it didn't happen again when I tried and hasn't happened since. Had 2 pages go blank at that time and didn't see it till it was too late and saved... thank God for backups! Jo Ann

Well, just thought I would see if it happened again, in a deliberate sense....

I opened all eleven files, copied a slab (100 lines) from the first and pasted into
the eleventh. Saved it.... Then

Shut them all down and there it was, a save ? request and a blank page in file 11...

Tried it again a couple of times, and it didn't do it...

Not very helpful I guess but thought I would say... Hope it may help

Ok......

Am not great at this but thought I had better add some more.... I hope its ok to do this.

I just edited three files, nothing major, just changed 1 letter in each as I had forgotten to do it.

I saved all, and uploaded.

On closing them two closed, but I was asked to save changes to the last of the three, I had already
done the save so I didn't, but a glance at the file on screen showed that the ENTIRE contents of
it was in fact the contents of one of the others...

The filename in the tab was not matching with the displayed file anymore....

I have attached a screen shot, I wont bore you, but the give away hit home.....

In the screenshot you can see how I use my previous and next buttons to move through the pages
on my site, in this case 'next' goes to 'yourBuggysAtoZ-6.php' and 'previous' goes to 'yourBuggysAtoZ-4.php'

Which told me I was looking at the contents of 'yourBuggysAtoZ-5.php' on the screen...

Now note the dotted shading around the file name in the left menu....

In this case the highlighted file is 'yourBuggysAtoZ-5.php', all ok...... No!

Now note the tab and the file name.... Its doesn't match....

Hopefully someone may be able to explain.....

All this has materialized since the latest use of tabs kicked in and the current version.
