Cursor location when using keyboard...

Hi:

I noticed a slight flaw, annoyance. When making a new tag, opening and closing, the cursor winds up inside of a tag, so that you must move it in order to begin typing text inside of the tag. For instance:

Making a <UL></UL> tag, you begin by typing <UL and hit enter. The program completes and closes the tag (<UL></UL>)

but instead of allowing you to immediately type inside the tag, <UL> | </UL>the cursor stops inside of the <UL | ></UL> like that. Forces you to make a tag and then navigate to the right one character in order to start to type.

Very simple fix, slows one down, and would make customers much happier. Especially this old one. ;-)

I guess this method <UL | ></UL> is easy for those whom apply class /id first before writing unordered list.
But it could be other way around if Editor wants please everyone as an option.

While that may be the reason, I do not always use css in every tag. The UL and LI tags are not the only ones. It does this for all tags was my point.

If that were designed to make it easier to insert css, then, when one types

<ul

it is assumed css is involved, and should have a drop down menu for "id" and "class" which, when you choose one, it gives you

<ul class =" | "></ul> with the cursor there.

It's not a flaw :o
This came up in the suggestions thread:
You'll have to fight off all us other oldies that rely on this feature for easily adding classes and IDs to our tags. :D
Keeping it in order allows the program to logically suggest what comes next:
<ul id="nav"></ul>
Just click your right arrow once to position the cursor in between the tags.

Sorry but have to side with Paintbrush on this one, supporting multiple web sites, one affiliated with the NPS and a heavy user of HTML5 and CSS3, heavy user of classes and ID's, the way it works now is perfect, otherwise, would have to spend time clicking back into the tag to add a class.

I find it hard to imagine a site on which every <UL> or <P>, etc., would be identical. All my tags have classes and many have IDs.
I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by. (Douglas Adams)

I think I'm pretty much the same way. I need that control.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
