How do I control the menu width with CSS Menu Designer?
I need to have a menu with a total width of 164 pixels. Menu designer seems to make it a fixed width and wrap my menu text.
With the 164px width, no text-wrapping is necessary.

In a previous thread it was mentioned that an all-CSS menu function is planned for a future release.

Is this still in the works?

Nevermind the 2nd question.

I had the same issue and used a quick fix offered buy another member which was to create a table and center that and put your menu in there. Works well but with today's html standards tables are icky. LOL

Thanks Dave,

I tried creating a table 164px wide and even putting the menu in a DIV 164px wide. CoffeCup's menu still stayed at the width it started at. I didn't have all day to experiment, so I found another solution.

I ended up just using a short menu script from Dynamic Drive. (If anyone is interested: it's Matt Black's script. It creates a horizontal menu but is easily converted to vertical.) With a bit of tweaking I got it to do what I needed. This was accomplished with just one short CSS script.

I like CoffeeCup's products but the CSS Menu Maker isn't quite there yet.

Unless I am misunderstanding you, you can do the following:

- Click the Options tab in CSS Menu Designer
-Change the Item Width to 164 pixels "Time heals everything. Know who said that? My Latin teacher at barber college!"
- Floyd Lawson

Widoktadwat - "Plays Well With Others"

Thanks Lowell,

I tried just that and it doesn't seem to make any difference. I do like the way the CoffeeCup CSS menus look. It's a fine tool and will work well for folks who don't want to roll their own. I will use it if I can get the results I need. I like the horizontal menus CSS Menu creates batter than the vertical ones. I haven't delved into the underlying CSS to see if it's limiting the menu width on vertical menus.

Can I use my own images with CSS Menu Designer

Yes, just alter the code.:) The menu maker doesn't have an option to add them during the design process. I can't hear what I'm looking at when it's so easy to overlook something I'm not looking for.:D
