The image quality is awful and there are no transition effects to choose from ... I'm disappointed and wish I had read this page before purchasing GIF Animator.

OK - I see what the problem is .... when you insert JPG files, the program automatically converts to GIF and produces a lousy quality image.

But if I take the photos and save them as GIFs using my photo editing software, and then insert them as GIFs, I get a much better result.

Hiya Janice,

I was just about to type that basically. Although the animator works fairly well it's definitely not an image editor so yes the best way is to get your images how you want them first. Good luck on it :) Jo Ann

Maybe I spoke too soon .... I just tried again and this time my images look like crap - all I did was resize the GIFs so they were all the same dimensions and then inserted the new GIFs and for some strange reason they look awful again. :(

the images don't look awful before putting them into the animator? If they weren't already the same size did you put a background behind them or did you just size them all the same which would distort those that were differently sized? Jo Ann

the images look fine in my program Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2

the images are not distorted - I know how to resize properly

its the color - they have taken on a monochromatic/sepia tone and the skin colors are blotchy

yeah I just played with another one, same type of results. That also happened to me a little while ago when I was checking it out so I don't really use this program much at all, but I'm pretty sure that the support team is aware of it. You could put in a support ticket to see if they have any options that would help with it though, that part I'm not sure of Jo Ann
