I used to do this alot, not so much any more and most of my head is filled with other stuff so...
I currently have a JS splash running my fire but it opens in a complete window with all the menus and all. I wrote one years ago that brought up just the frame of a window the correct size for my fire not full sized. The js does fine except I would rather it be like the last one I wrote(lost the drive). Anyone have an example of one I can use to extract what I need (Haven't forgoten all).

I'm thinking of using a redirect to the announcement that I want to do and using cookies to tell if they have seen it yet. Would involve testing for the cookie first if null then placing one and continuing.Then on the reload of index.html it would test and find the cookie and skip the redirect.
Just not sure I want to do this with people not liking cookies much.
I know a couple of years ago I wrote one that would load from Index in just a frame(No bars not even an exit) and they would click a link for close- just cant remember how I did that
Also looked at a popup, don't like that eigther.
