I need to convert swf files to avi. This is apparently a Very Difficult Thing To Do, but it's necessary because You Tube will not upload SWF files properly.
I've now tried about five different programs that claim to do this, but none have done so properly. I just found this link here on the Firestarter forums:

I downloaded the file, which was only 1 MB, and ran it. It tells me I need to have Microsoft .Net Framework installed, and the next screen asks me to accept the EULA for Microsoft .Net Framework. However, once I've clicked Accept the whole thing just closes down.
I realize this isn't a Firestarter question as such, but if anyone has had any luck with this program - or any other - please let me know. I just want a free swf to avi converter.
Alternatively... as a suggestion for CoffeeCup... can we have the option of exporting as an avi or mpeg4 file?

I suggest you post your software suggestion in the software suggestion thread to make sure the developers see it. I don't think they read each and every post (I could be wrong):

As far as conversion, I have very expensive video editing software installed on my computer that does all that for me very easily, but you might want to try:

The conversion is done on THEIR servers so you don't have to troubleshoot software on your end.

Turns out the You Tube forum had a useful suggestion - using screen capture software I found WM Capture and it works very well. It's free for movies under 2 minutes, produces excellent quality, and doesn't leave a watermark or anything.
