This is driving me insane. I created a beautiful flash and now trying to add files to VSD and cannot find files. So I did a global search via explorer and found the files, and it looks like they somehow were saved as a short cut??? What?? Is going on???
Please help, two days trying and counting.

I had the same exact thing happening to me. I have since abandoned Firestarter and am using a different program. The response I got here was that maybe my computer wasn't allowing me to save active content programs. I have no problems with the new program I am using. Just wanted to share with you that you were not alone with that problem. Breast cancer sucks. Chemo sucks. Save the tata's.

I can't see how that could be something created by the software. A shortcut can only be created by the user when they click on the file. Firestarter doesn't have the ability to create a shortcut. It only saves an swf file

Scott, I can tell you that his description is exactly what happened to me. I could not locate my file/s and when I did the search, just like he described, it came up with the name of the file and it was a shortcut - no actual files.
Breast cancer sucks. Chemo sucks. Save the tata's.

Did you try saving the fire to your desktop? Could not being log on as an administrator cause this?
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's so easy to overlook something your not looking for.
