How about everyone with a paid SDrive account gets in free, CC software owners pay $5 and guests pay $15
If a guest didn't get an egg, they could have $10 off of a software purchase. Eggless CC members could pick a theme or graphic set "on the house". And SDrive owners could have a half hour head start on the hunt
I like the idea of CC members getting to create some eggs. How about... once a theme is decided upon, an egg forum can be set up for submissions. Eggs must be created in Web Image Studio. The Head Honcho and staff will pick a certain number of them (3?,) and these will be "wild card" eggs (a Swag Shop certificate, pick any CC software up to $50, get all 5 PDF manuals....), no telling what it is until it's clicked on.
Just don't do this more than once a year, unless we can use those support eggs to call you at 3 in the morning and whine about our lousy luck!
It is fun, frustrating, but still fun. Thanks for doing this!

I really love the egg hunt, but I guess the one drawback is when you find unclaimed eggs that contain software you already have! I spent HOURS day after day doing the hunt and I found 3 unclaimed eggs. I didn't take them because I already had what was in them.
Maybe instead of hiding eggs that give you a 1 in 75 chance of getting a vacation (or some big prize like that), you could instead offer a consolation prize for when you come across an egg that is unclaimed, but contains something you already own. So, say I came across an egg that contained the Web Form Builder... Since I own that already, when I click on it, maybe it would also ask me something like, "You can now choose to claim this egg, you can move on to try and find a different egg, or you can choose to be entered into our drawing to win a _______. " There's always going to be those of us who keep searching trying to find "the big one", but why not have a chance to win "something" a least! Especially if you're devoting hours of your life to the hunt!
...and of course the odds of winning the "consolation prize" would be determined by how many people chose to go that route - kind of like the lottery
But really, who cares if it's 1 in 50 or 1 in 500 - I think all of us that do the hunt would at least feel good about having the opportunity to win something great!

Oh and one more thing, you'd still be able to claim only one prize, like how the hunt is now. You wouldn't be able to claim an egg and then go search for another unclaimed egg to try and enter the contest too. That just wouldn't be fair!

haha Paintbrush I love your avatar!
How about instead of a specific piece of software, a choice between 3 or 4 different pieces? After all it's not like they are or physical items that you'll run out of right? This would give people that might have one piece at least the possibility that they might not have one of the others.

<<< It's what I turn into after clicking way too many already taken eggs – an angry little robot trapped in an egg (I love Futurama, would also recommend a Red Dwarf theme).
I suggested something similar above; a wild card egg of sorts. That's 2 votes...
Now I need to go oil my hinges with a few drops of scotch

I like the idea of parts of the website directly relating to what types of eggs are hidden on them. There is a support article called "Cloaking" and I kept thinking that would be the perfect place to hide a Starship Enterprise egg!

That would actually have to be a Romulan ship or a Klingon ship, or possibly Ferengi.. I'm a bit rusty on my trekker geek fact, but those were the ships with Cloaking .. Enterprise only has shields no cloaking.. however you can also find a cloaked ship by looking for it's "exhaust" in layman's terms according to Jordi ...
Hmm.. I vote Star Trek.. I know more Star Trek than Star Wars.. Bring it!
