I would say drop the e-mail angle or add more clarification that you're going to see something in your Inbox. I think a couple of folks (including myself) didn't realize there would be an e-mail popping up with the final steps to the golden egg.

I don't feel cheated or anything, but it looks like a couple of folks ran into that issue with things getting sent to alternate email addresses, or not even having their e-mail opened.

I thought the S-Drive option was PERFECT for tips. Keep people checking out your site (I can't believe how robust S-Drive has gotten since it first started out as a "tumblr" or sorts, I'm seriously looking into how to migrate my WordPress blog over here) I'm mixed about the combination of Twitter/Facebook/S-Drive for tips. I think most of them were in all three places, but a few were split out, and I think that overwhelms some folks

As for future endeavors, I could see some shenanigans with Twitter posting/bots to interact with the search, maybe even ways to get clues that way. I'm sure I'll scheme up something, so I'll keep pondering.

Thanks again for an amazing hunt!!!! Here's hoping I get that trip! 8^D http://about.me/dillieo

How about once an egg is claimed it would give a hint to another unclaimed egg.
Also have a point system, you get one point for each claimed egg you find and the top 5 or so people that have the most points gets a prize.

Part of me thinks maybe having "partial eggs" or "egg fragments" might be a fun way to get things. They can be tied in to some various tasks within S-Drive or the forums, and once you get all three pieces, they magically assemble to get the particular egg. However, keeping dibs on "claiming" might be difficult.

[Edit] Now I'm getting "teased" by a trooper egg on the front page of the Egg Hunt 2012 forum listing. 8^D http://about.me/dillieo

To be honest I don't know how you improve upon this!

The only thing I can think of is, I love the idea of the theme - I would love to see more tie in with the theme or prize. For instance I thought for sure Chewbocca would be hidden on a page with something to do with Mac, either a forum, article or Mac page. I must have looked through a few thousand of them.

I love that the 3CP-Yolk had to do with actual theme related items and a true scavenger hunt that required more than just following a few links. You had to decipher and research and it wasn't a race to see who could click three links the fasted :) More of that would be great but maybe not as insanely hard. ... oh and if there is a form maybe a warning that there is an email coming LOL I thought it had to do with the answers and a redirect to the right page if the answers were right.

Otherwise the way the clues were organized on one page and the frequency and your constant input in the forums was awesome.

I love the theme ideas for next year.. Star Wars was awesome.. who doesn't love star wars. I like Mario and Luigi, Star Trek, ...

Oh and one last idea.. what about a pre-kickoff egg designing contest (using CC software of course) where we can submit our egg design and you pick the winner and we get our egg used in the hunt?? That would be cool bragging rights here since we're always arguing over who is better at graphic design in my office :D

I think the points system would be unfair to those who are unable to spend the entire duration of the hunt online. The way that it is now, everyone has an equal chance to find the egg of their dreams.

I like the idea od a digital egg drawing contest for 2013 egg hunt.

Yes . . . a new theme for 2013. CoffeeCup says what the theme iand what you looking for as the egg characters. We enter in the contest and start making them eggds. WITHOUT BREAKING COPYRIGHT LAWS !!

A few came up with ideas like . . . Mario and Luigi . . . Star Trek . . . . . how about Shrek and friends . . . DC comic chcaracters . . . .Titanic stars . . . . Marvel commic characters . . . . . how about coffeecup staff into cartoon character. . . . . How about a Bike Mike Egg Hunt . . . . ha-ha-ha-ha-ha !!!

Maybe a Scott cartoon character egg face egg hunt . . . . he-he-he-he-he-he!!!

However there were quite a few people, like me, who did spend a large amount of time looking and in the end didn't claim a "big" egg (unless I win the trip) so this would be a way to encourage more people to spend more time on the site and reward the ones that do.

You can't look at it as unfair... it's the 1/3 rule.. 1/3 will always love it, 1/3 will never want it and 1/3 can be swayed. You can't cater to the bottom 1/3 but instead cater to the top 1/3 and the 1/3 you can sway. Web Designer and SEO Specialist for TIM

Also this year I am very amused to find the eggs, although I have not won anything, but winning is not important the important thing is to participate. (I lie).

However for the next year, might be interesting to have some major prizes to be won, with a clue-steps-system, also the first clue, once solved will reveal another clue to solve.

So i can have more time to spend for the egg hunt. i live in italy and

and what about a Christmas hunt?

ciao ciaoooooo
