Hi -

I spoke with CCup Tech Support today regarding my DHTML menu working fine in IE but not at all in Firefox. They told me to make sure the menu's code was at the very top of the body. I tried it on one page and then tested it in Firefox. Still not working! ARGH!

Can anyone take a look and offer me some advice? Feel free to email me at kri8@comcast.net if you'd like.

The page in question is this:
http://www.debbiesdance.com/registeronline.htm

Again - all work fine in IE not Firefox.

Thanks in advance!

Kristen,

You are either using the HTML Editor 2007 or the old version of the free DHTML menu builder. You should get the version 2.1 DHTML Menu Builder and use that to re-save your code, or upgrade to the HTML Editor 2008 version.

Let us know if that fixes the menu, or if you need additional assistance. Bill R.

Hi,
Same problem as above user:
I am using registered HTML2008.
I have created a site based on one of the CC templates. Looks great but.....
Frustratingly, my pages are fine in ie7 however the layout changes in ie6 and the DHTML menu is squashed into a ball at the bottom left in Firefox. I have done a test page using only the menu which works. Following a suggestion in the forum I tried putting the menu at the top of the page but this resulted in the same isues.
Please see examples below, particularly the change in firefox.

Main url:
www.ultrasoundpaedia.com

Test with menu at top:
http://www.ultrasoundpaedia.com/USP%20t … 20top.html

Test with menu only:
http://www.ultrasoundpaedia.com/USP menu only test.html

Please help.

Hello Kristen,
Not sure if this thread is even relevant anymore but I use Firefox and your menus work fine - drop downs and all.

Can someone tell me how to get my DHTML menu into CC - I used the "insert flash" option but it didn't find my menu b/c DHTML saves it as a .mnu file. I tried saving the menu in another format (html) but I didn't have that option when I used "save as". Am I missing something? How do I convert the menu to pull it into CC.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Hi,

the thread linked by Bill above was very helpful.
Particularly the July 30 (i think) one where bill describes setting up a link to keep your DHTML menu in a separate page.

Rene' Connolly,

When you build your menu using the DHTML Menu Builder, you save the settings in a .mnu file. You should also have seen some code.

The window with the code has a link to save the code to your windows clipboard. You should use that and then paste the code into Windows Notepad or some other text editor that does not add formatting codes. Now save that as yourmenu.html file. Be sure with Notepad to use the save as function or notepad will save it as yourmenu.html.txt.

You can use that file to add the menu to VSD via the HTML tool.

Another way (and better in my opinion) is to save the file as yourmenu.js, and edit out some of the code that is not needed. Delete everything above the
function Go(){return}
and delete everything below the
function AfterCloseAll(){return}

Now use the VSD html tool and enter just this line of code:
<span id="themenu"><SCRIPT type="text/javascript" SRC="yourmenu.js">/SCRIPT></span>

Hope this is what you are looking for.

Hi, I'm having this problem too. I changed the menu I built with flash menu builder to one built using the DHTML menu builder last night, I use VSD for the main site. flintanddenbighrc.com. I was told by various people that they can't see the menu, but the flash menu builder one was fine! What do I have to do?

Hi Janet,

Read the second posting (Bill's) in this thread:

http://www.coffeecup.com/forums/dhtml-m … ox/?page=1

What you need to do is replace the old .dat file with the one the link in Bill's post contains, re-open your menu in the DHTML builder software, regenerate the menu code for your page, and then insert that new menu code into VSD, making sure you deleted the old code. I believe the download Bill links to contains more info.

OK, I've replaced the .dat file. I've created a menu.js according to the instructions in the link, I've inserted the code using the html box, and the menu has disappeared from the preview. I don't want to publish this site yet unless I know the menu will be there. What am I doing wrong?
