So I have VSD 7 build 26 and I start of with a clean blank page, add a text box and start typing four words. Hit preview and the fourth word wraps to the next line. Does this in Firefox latest and default browser but not Chrome. What gives?

Have you tried dragging out the text box to leave more space at the end? You can do that while in text mode; when there's a red outline (rather than blue) around the text.

What size font are you using?
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

I experience the same problem, same VSD version as user above. I notice it when I have two text boxes that I line up horizontally; one is a list of names, the other is contact numbers. Often it will look fine when I preview it but when I upload to my website, some of the lines wrap around. I have tried lengthening the text box. In order to stop it I was forced to include them all in one text box and then move the spacing of the contact numbers till they stopped wrapping. :/

Don't know what happened to fix the previous users problem. I'm not having that problem. My guess would simply be that different browsers are rendering the text in different sizes. Without knowing all the setting being used in the various browsers I really can't make a guess. As long as the text box is big enough to not wrap the text then there should be no problem even if the boxes overlap. As I said, works good for me.
