Why does the text with a Shadow Effect create a cut-out in my background image?

I will not pretend being an expert on VSD, but did you create the text first on the black background, then turned it into advanced text to add the shadow effect, and after that moved it to the greyish sheet?

The grey part is a png image. I then created the text on top of that, yes I converted it to advanced text and added the shadow. However, it should not have cut a hole in the image below it.

Just to note, it looks fine in the VSD editor.

Well, as I said, I'm no expert on VSD. But there are knowledgeable people around, so just hang on here until Eric, Paintbrush or Gunsmoke turns up :)

It appears that the background is captured when adding an effect. That then becomes the background for the text.
Kind of useless.

If VSD can display it properly, then why can't the html file?

I just turned the text into a PNG image and added a shadow that way.

I tried it and got the same result as you. If you don't get some good advice here, try opening a support ticket to CC support.

Edit: What I tried was what you did first. With png and gif files you can have a transparent background, so maybe that is why it works. VSD turns the advanced text into a jpg.
Good that you got it sorted! :)

Like a said above, I had to create the "Welcome" into a PNG with the shadow already added. Simply changing the text to "advanced text" causes the issue, so advanced text is pointless unless you have a plain background.
