VSD has been upgraded and released as of today Estevan. Although I can't tell you what's new or changed as I don't use the program, you might want to upgrade your version and see what's all been added. Might be that some of the features you're looking for are in there now? Have fun checking it out :) Jo Ann

Thanks, Scott, I guess getting the updated functional details have to wait? I would love to know the delta between the last build and the beta.

That information will be made available when the program is ready for release.

Hi Scott, just saw the new VD7 out and downloaded and installed. Great to see! Do you have a compiled list of changes from 6 to 7?

Thanks,

Oops! I didn't type those questions marks on my last post. I use the Alt key & number code to make a smiley face and some hearts. Guess that doesn't work here :)

Two things that I see are missing on Visual Site Designer...

An Undo BUTTON and a way to make images more transparent.

Sometimes I need shades of see through color and so far I cannot figure out how to accomplish this although you show that you have done that work in the user templates.

Also, a biggie.....!

There needs to be a way to LOCK the bottom layers so that you don't spend half your time re-placing what you just worked to get locked down perfect. You add something on top and the selector selects and moves something underneath before you realize what happened and you have to redo a lot of work sometimes to get it back, if you didn't catch it when it happened.

Even using the templates, the layers are not locked so suddenly you find it looking weird and you wonder what happened!

Thanks.

Pam, the UNDO, use Ctrl-z and there is an UNDO is under EDIT.

There is a Group feature that has the ability to LOCK the layers which is helpful, but the grouping is still selected if you click on it. I wish there was a way to LOCK the underlying layers.

I'm not sure about shades, but using a PNG file will help with transparency. You'll see it as black edges while you are working, but will be transparent when you preview or have it live.

Now that VSD 7 is out and the Buttonizer tool introduced, it would be great to have the option to use custom color schemes within the Buttonizer images. Tim

would like to be able to add a link to a grouped object. At the present time I can only add a link to the frame and to the photo when they are ungrouped. Once I group the 2, the link disappears. I'm guessing this is for a very good reason?

I'm not following you completely. I know you can't link grouped objects but I've linked objects and then grouped them and they kept thier links. I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's so easy to overlook something your not looking for.
