Stop screen from wrapping

Hi

I has just come to my attention that when my website is accessed by computers other than my own, if that person has a wider screen than mine, the entire left hand side of the screen "wraps" again to the right in what would be an area to the right hand side ( as I look at the moniter ) of the screen, if my screen was wide enough to see this.

I will try to get a screenshot of this soon to illustrate this, but for now I will try to explain.

Imagine the following text represents a screen which is wider than mine:

Hi there, and welcome to my website Hi there, and we
I hope you enjoy your stay here. I hope you enjoy

Is there a way I can stop what is on the left from repeating on the right?

Other websites can "automatically" adjust to whatever screensize they are on. When I saw this it made my website look cheap and tacky.

I hope there is a way this problem can be resolved.

Many thanks.

Swamp Dog, In VSD the image will 'automatically' wrap unless you tell it otherwise. Click on your backgraound image in VSD, select 'Page' from the top menu. At the bottom of the popup box, where your background image is loaded, check the 'position' box and select 'centered' or any other position you prefer. Just remember that if anyone has a screen size larger than your image then they will see blank space around your image.

A solution to this can be found here... http://progrower.coffeecup.com/jquerybackground_static.html

Eric also has many other cool features... http://progrower.coffeecup.com/

Thank you very much for your input Eric and Gunsmoke. I have got the front page more or less sorted thanks to the two of you. However all other pages are still a problem for me (they remain as is - wrapping), but you have given me a path to work on.

On one of the problem pages I added the html but what happened is the image I use for the side became my entire background. All other pages I used the centred position only (for now - one step at a time) but it did not centre the pages.

Gunsmoke you are right, Eric has some superb features to absorb !!

Many thanks and over time with trial and error I will persist.

Cheers
Nick

Guys I might be onto the right formula now. What I did to the page that was presenting problems was that I first renamed it, then duplicated my front page and named it after the the page that I am currently fixing, then copied that renamed page content onto the duplicated front page, fixed all links to it and I now have 2 pages that are functioning as they should.

Many thanks to the two of you :D
