I have VSD and I am trying Photo Gallery. Well to start I am 73 and retired. I have a hobby using a cnc machine to engrave Acrylic plastic and to emboss wood. I thought this was supposed to be an easy way to get a web site up. It is not. None of the modules seem to work with each other. I used other programs in the past that you never had to leave the program to add things. Maybe I am looking at the wrong software. If anyone thinks they can help here is the website. www.acrylicnwood.com . I made 2 albums but only one has any pictures. I save and let Album maker upload the files and they are on site on the remote server. I am lost I ownt talk about shopping cart.

Thank You
Don

Well Don, not sure what went wrong there, but not all of your pictures uploaded. The .xml file shows both galleries. It's just the pictures that are missing. Easiest fix would be to simply open the Photo Gallery again, make sure all your pictures show and re-publish. Many things can cause a bad connection and cause problems uploading. Hopefully re-publishing will fix you up.

As far as the programs working together, they work great.
In VSD, after you have created your gallery, all you have to do to add it to your VSD site is click on that little lightening bolt icon on the left side of VSD ( to add a CoffeeCup Flash Object) then browse to the directory where you saved your gallery. You will see the .xml file listed there. Double click that file and VSD will put the code into the web site for you. Just position the HTML box where you want your gallery to appear and publish your site and you're done.

Let me know if you still need more help.

The site has been saved and uploaded 3 times. There are 2 copies of every photo in the folder. Only the photos for the one album are being seen. So it was not a bad upload. It works fine in preview.

Well, what can I say. When I try to access the photo http://www.acrylicnwood.com/myalbum_files/2013-08-08_20.jpg it is not there! Ergo, it did not upload and is not on your server where it needs to be. Or perhaps the permissions are set so that no one can access them ??

It works fine in preview.

In 'preview' you are looking at the photos on your computer, not on your server.

You xml file for the photo gallery looks like this...

You can access the photos in the 2nd gallery, but not the first. Even without accessing the photo gallery at all, if you enter a direct link the a photo in gallery 1 you get the 'file not found error' because the file is not there.

If you are sure the photos are there, in the directory: http://www.acrylicnwood.com/myalbum_files/ then you need to open a support topic with CoffeeCup so they can take a look and see what is happening.

Since you own a CoffeeCup product, you have an S-DRIVE account. I'd publish the gallery to your S-DRIVE and see if it works there. Just to give us a little more information...

You are right the photos where not there. I guess the upload in VSD or Photo Gallery does not work to well. I used Filezilla and all is there. I use the built in upload and it says all file done complete or whatever but they have do not upload only some of them upload not all.

I will leave this subject for now. I do have another question if you don,t mind. Thank you in advance. I would like 2 separate albums. So as when you click on photo gallery you go to the Gallery page and there would be 2 choices. You would click on Gallery 1 or 2 and go to that album. Maybe later add more albums with there own link.

Thank You
Don

Glad you found your pictures. It's not a problem with VSD but can be either a noisy internet connection or a server issue. In filezilla simply selecting 'binary' upload sometimes works where VSD does not. In VSD you want to make sure your FTP settings are set to 'passive mode' and that also helps.

Should be no problem having more than one gallery. Simply name each gallery with a unique name and upload the files like always. Should be no conflict. Let me know if you do have problems.
