I upload from VSD all the time and never have a problem. Problems come in many flavors, the most common is a bad internet connection. Even if you have a fast connection, noise or a problem 'downstream' from you can still cause an uploading problem. Simply upload again. I actually never use the re-sync option though I understand that works fine. Scott has the right idea in that if you upload several times and things still look odd, delete everything off the server and upload again.

You are getting files uploaded to your server so I'm guessing your FTP settings are correct. Make sure you check the 'Use Passive Mode' checkbox and Port 21. That works better for most servers. Off hand, who is your hosting provider? I hear Hostgator got bought out and is now having some problems for some users. Just wondering.

So what is an FTP client and how do I delete the files manually?

You can try Coffeecups ftp its great. http://www.coffeecup.com/direct-ftp/

Then enter the same information into it as you did for the FTP settings in VSD.

They also have a freebie that can be found here

http://www.coffeecup.com/free-ftp/

It will open up to your server files when you connect and you can just delete them from there. Then publish your website in VSD as Scott suggested.

Steve just showed you what an FTP client is. Once you connect to your server through that client you'll be able to manually delete your website files, and upload the ones from your computer.

Well, Everything is back to normal. I didn't do anything to fix the problem either, so I am assuming it was a faulty internet connection, but I'm not really sure since I was able to get online. Thanks for the feedback.

Glad things started working again. Must have been those internet ghosts again! They are always causing problems for me :)
