I know, I know...you're going to tell me to use S-Drive but that's not an option because it's a friend's site. So, is there a way to embed her blog into her separate site?

Yes, use S-Drive Streams! ;) That will allow you to embed a blog into her site. That is what this service is specifically designed for.

There must be some way to do it without S-Drive, right? She doesn't want to switch her hosting...

You don't have to switch your host to use S-Drive Streams. Streams is free and comes with S-Drive.

Okay, talk me through this then, I guess I'm confused. I have several CC programs, including VSD. I'm building a site for a friend who has hosting through GoDaddy. She wants to be able to update her blog herself so I assumed that I needed to set her up with Wordpress or Blogger, etc. How would I then use s-streams?

What you would want to do here is go to https://www.coffeecup.com/sdrive/dashboard/ click Streams and click the Share button in the upper right hand corner. There you will get the Embed Code. Now just take that code, paste it into your website and you will be all set.

Still confused! :P How does she add to the blog then if she's doing it from her computer? Does she need to create her own account?

Yes, she needs her own S-Drive account.

Kristi, once she has the SDrive Stream acct., she can either link to her Stream from her site or embed the Stream in a page on her site. Either way, she can then easily manage her blog from her computer, phone, someone else's computer... :)

I also do NOT want to ever use the S Drive. I want my own data on my own hosting account dependent on only me and my hosted site.

Comment: When Serif decided to add there own drive and then to make their customers dependent on that drive it drove me away from using their product. You may think it is a good marketing tool to make the customers stay with you because you now own their data on your drive, it is not! We the customers have the right to put our data where we can control and own that data.

How do I code a blog WITHOUT using the S Drive,
Randall
