How to add a CSS Menu to VSD - Page 2

I just added a menu to a VSD website and followed Step 8 in the procedure mentioned earlier. However - when I preview my webpage - the drop down menu drops down successfully but I can still see the text from behind the drop down menu. The text is in a box on the page (hard to give you a screen shot of this unfortunately).

Any ideas on how to prevent anything from showing through the menu buttons from behind?

Thanks.

Hm, sounds like a transparency problem. Your drop down menus sound like you should be using a solid color for background. That should keep any text from showing through. Without a screen shot can't really say, but try adjusting your color and/or transparency to block that text.

It's probably a z-index issue.
With a link to the page we can advise you to the proper code to fix it.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Thanks for the suggestions. The menu / drop down buttons have a solid back ground (normal, hover and active) and I will work on uploading the screen to the web later today.

Some more information:

There are two 'layers' to the background text (first lay is a box - filled in with a solid color), the second layer is the text.

When I arrange the box by moving it to the back (without any text - for test purposes) the drop down buttons work great. Only when I add the text on top of the box does the text show through the drop down buttons.

I also attempted to 'group' the box and the text and then move that to the back - I encountered the same issue.

I will send an update when the page is available on the web.

Thanks again for the quick responses.

Dang just when I thought I had it all working some of the other pages are messed up. If I right-click and go to arrange on either the menu or the text that covers it, "bring to front" is grayed out. If you look at the link below, you can see that the menu is Object23 and z-index 5. The problem text is z-index 6. Is there a way to override that other than changing the html every time I publish the site?

You say that it works on some pages, but not on others? The right-click that is ... Pick a page where it works, right click and select arrange/bring to front. Then right click and select 'copy'. Got to the pages where the menu doesn't work. Delete the html box. Then Press CTRL-V to paste the one that worked. Do that for all pages that didn't work. Should work.

Bit of a task, but I've done it before . . .

EDIT: Hold on - see another problem. Back soon . . .

Okay, on the golf drop down you cannot select all options because ( I think ) the text block is on top of the menu. So, instead of trying to adjust the menus, right click on the text box and select 'arrange/send to back'. If it disappears, don't move your mouse, just right click again and select 'arrange/bring forward' till it becomes visible again. See if that helps.

Same result. It didn't disappear but now both the text and the box behind it are "in back"

I tried your first idea too. I deleted the html box from the pro shop page and copy and pasted from the home page. When that didn't work, I copied the html code, deleted the box, created a new html box and pasted the code...still the same results.
