I know this was discussed last year, but I am starting to see this "Encountered an illegal argument". Its difficult to get rid of and I have noticed that even if I get past it, some of the vsd file become Corrupted. I had to completely rebuild a site today and I think it was due to this issue. I have the latest version of VSD . The only Corruption issue I get is when this error shows when developing the page.

Any ideas?

Do you know where it starts to show? Maybe after you had some custom html? If you can replicate it I would open a support topic and let the CC gurus take a look at your files.

Its when I'm adding a text box. I get the text into the box, but when I click back to it the error shows. It takes a bit, but I can usually delete the box and start over. I have had to abort VSD a couple of times.

I know sometimes if a text box is touching other elements it causes an issue. You can confirm this if you know which text box you added that it starts happening by shifting it to a new location.

This has been happening again to me. Sometimes after I try to upload the site it will go through all the steps like it's Publishing the site then at the end it comes up with the "Illegal Argument". Almost all the time when this happens I can do the Control-Alt-Delete to Task Manager and close VSD and everything is saved when I re-open VSD.
Today I was editing a site and clicked outside the site area with a text box open. Got the "Illegal Argument" again but this time it wiped out all my work. I had one large page done and working on a second page, both reverted back to what was there prior. Got to remember to hit that SAVE button more often! AAArrrrggggghhhhh.......

I feel your pain Tim, this has happened to me several times to. I find it happening mostly when I click outside of the page area on the left or right column when you have the page fully expanded (not in window view). Usually if I keep hitting ok it will take about 10-15 clicks but it will be fine. I always save after every little change I make, that is something I learned in Post Secondary. Our instructor would preach to us all year about the importance of saving often he actually turned the breaker off killing power to the entire lab halfway through our final! Thank god I was not a victim! Of course he allowed people to stay later to finish up but it was a valuable lesson learned.

Be nice if CC could figure out what's causing that error to begin with . . .

I'm waiting to see a "Proper Argument".
