Creating dropdown menus in VSD - Page 1

I know there is a flash menu builder to use within VSD but its styling is unacceptable.
I love the look of the CSS Menu Designer but aren't up to speed yet with using and building sites through the HTML Editor.
Any chance Coffeecup will be able to provide this style of menu design for use in VSD?
Thanks.

Yes, that is actually one of the big items we want to tackle once we get a few other fires put out. When we get a bit closer, I will be posting more information here about it.

Amanda,

Do you have the HTML Editor? If so, you can create a blank page and build your menu.

Then you can use the HTML tool to add the code in the location you want it displayed.

Hi Bill
Thanks for that. Yes I do have HTML Editor.
I've been told though that although I can do that it won't display in chrome or firefox web browsers. I may have the browsers wrong but you will get my drift.
As my statistics show that the two main browser visitors to my sites include both IE and chrome I can't afford to not have them both able to view the menus.

Amanda,

I am still playing with the CSS on my menu, but it DOES display in Firefox (what I use).

Here is what I am playing with for my menu:

I will install Chrome on this computer (new to me machine) tomorrow.

Amanda,

I just installed Chrome on this computer, and tested the menu. It works.

Hi Amanda,

Using the HTML editor or any menu builder and then inserting the generated code with the HTML tool into VSD would be of little use: how would you link the menu buttons to the corresponding VSD pages? It would surely need a lot of extra hand-coded HTML inside the HTML tool....
You can circumvent the drop-down problem by using some clever combination of horizontal and vertical menus. I made a prototype of what I mean here: http://www.johnvanhulst.com/probike for another VSD user who had the same question. Clicking on bikes reveals a horizontal menu that stays in place all the time; it gives you four 'subpages', just like a drop-down menu that shows four new possibilities. I can send you the VSD design if you want to.

Hi Amanda,
I am dealing with this same issue with VSD and menus. Would mind sharing the VSD design with me as well. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Kirk
