I've used VSD a while and not had this problem. I added a .png image and it will not show up. I first added the image through the menu, then I selected the button to add image to the page. It appears, but not when I preview the page or when I upload the page. I also searched for an answer on this and I do not get the context options menu when I select an image to resize it or add a description or anything like that. Could it be because it's a transparent Gif or PNG?

A 'transparent' image usually refers to the background of the image.
Let me ask this...do you have a background image on the site? Do you have a link to the site we could look at? You could always publish to your free S-Drive account and let us have a peek. The reason I ask is this...if you have a full page background pic and not just a color then it's possible that your image is there, but is hidden behind the background ( or another image ).

What you can try is this...import your image to the page, then 'right-click' the image, come down and select 'arrange', then select 'Bring to front'. Preview your page and see if the image shows.

Let us know . . .

Ok, let me try that... I think I have just a plan white background. I had to just replace it with another image as customers were needing to see the link/logo. The site is at http://hallettfotoshoppe.com
The BMW image is currently where I want the image to go.

That's a HUGE image... it could be that it's taking so long to load that it seems it's not there. :o
376.45 KB (385,480 bytes)
1,920px × 1,080px (scaled to 145px × 85px)
You should re-size that in a photo editor before adding it to the page. ;)

Yes, I apparently forgot to resize that since I was not intending to use that image. That's not the one that won't show up.

The original image that doesn't show up.... is it saved on your computer or are you linking to it? Sometimes website images have a transparent GIF over them to prevent 'hot-linking'; you end up with the transparent GIF rather than the actual image.
Can you open it/see it in a different program (Photoshop or similar)?

Is the image you want to use a BMW logo? If so, have you tried a different one (see my link above)?

That's all I can think of for now. If you could put the 'problem' image back and upload the site, maybe we might find out what's going on with it.

Hi,
I have a small Facebook icon with a link that works properly, but for some reason, the icon does not show on the page. it just shows a box. I have reloaded, resaved, done the edit/add files uploaded etc.., still it won't show up.
In Firefox, the image or link does not show up all. Where am I going wrong?

See: http://www.pembrokelegionbr72.ca/. It should show up just under the Contact Us button

Thank you in advance

Don't use the "Edit add files". Use the standard image tool on the left hand side of the design screen in VSD. If you do use the "Edit add files" make sure you don't add files to the "files" directory that VSD uses. Add then to your own custom directory like "images" for example.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Hi Eric,
Thank you. It seems I had the Facebook icon in many different folders, but not in the one called files within VSD. I manually uploaded the icon directly into that folder with ftp and the image is now showing up. Thanks for the clue that helped me solve this issue. That's the problem with us newbies. We tend to get lost in our own lack of knowledge.
