Currently i'm having a problem putting a margin between two columns that have a span of 6 because then it pushes one column to the next row.
I attached some screenshots of what happens below.

The columns include the gutters. You have to add the margins to the elements you put inside a column.

Into the columns you pop containers, images, paragraphs, forms, lists and what not. Those elements can be given the margins needed.
The columns themselves are per definition 'wall-to-wall' elements They can take padding, but not left and right margins without dropping down to the next line. No problem with top and bottom margins, though.
