Jacob Roggeveen (1 February 1659, Middelburg - 31 January 1729, Middelburg) was a Dutch explorer who was sent to find Terra Australis, but he instead came across Easter Island by chance. another one who found what he was not looking for, the irony of it alll I have gone , I shall return, from journeys long, all stones turned.
